Tune in to the next instalment of The Michael J Fox Foundation’s Third Thursday webinar series for an expert discussion on sex, love and Parkinson’s

The latest episode of The Michael J Fox Foundation’s Third Thursdays webinar series, which will focus on sex, love and Parkinson’s, will air on Thursday February 20 at 12:00 ET.

In this free hour-long webinar, experts will discuss sexual changes in people with Parkinson’s, how the condition impacts intimate relationships – and strategies and treatments that can help. Listeners are also encouraged to submit questions throughout.

Sexual problems – whether caused by the condition, medication side effects, or body image – are common in people with Parkinson’s. This can range from the physical to the emotional, and can affect men and women in different ways.

Frequent difficulties in people with Parkinson’s include decreased sexual desire, compulsive sexual behaviour or hypersexuality, arousal problems and physical limitations in maintaining sexual positions.

It is nevertheless possible to continue having healthy sexual relationships. Experts recommend the key is to have open communication with both your partner and doctor, who can help find solutions and treatments.

To listen to the webinar, you must register here up to 15 minutes before its scheduled air time. If you cannot make the live broadcast, you can visit the archive to access a recording of the show.
