Know someone with an outstanding commitment to the Parkinson’s community? Whether they are leading researchers, dedicated caregivers or influential advocates, they could receive a special community service award from the World Parkinson’s Program (WPP).

The deadline for nominations for the ‘Dr Rana International Parkinson’s Community Service Award’ is 1 March 2016 and the WPP will announce the winners on World Parkinson’s Day, 11 April 2016.

Nominees should be individuals who have consistently presented themselves as role models and leaders in the field of Parkinson’s disease or the Parkinson’s community. The award recognises such individuals who display exceptional dedication to the Parkinson’s cause.

Last year’s winners were: Roger Barker, professor of neurology at John van Geest Centre for Brain Repair, UK; Christine Belford, CEO of Parkinson’s Disease South Australia; Olie Westheimer, executive director of Brooklyn Parkinson Group, US.
