Parkinson's Life poetry competition

Calling all wordsmiths in Parkinson’s community – our first ever Parkinson’s Life poetry competition is open for submissions. Submit your entry by 14 March for a chance to feature in our online magazine on World Parkinson’s Day 2019

To mark World Parkinson’s Day 2019, we will be launching our first ever poetry competition.

We are inviting readers to submit an original poem which explores any aspect of Parkinson’s – this could include but is not limited to symptoms, lifestyle, taboos or caring for a loved one.

The winning entry will be published in Parkinson’s Life on World Parkinson’s Day – along with an interview feature with the author, where they can share their experience of the condition with our readers.

Participants must submit one single entry, that can be no longer than two sides of A4 paper and must be an original, previously unpublished piece of work.

Entries can be submitted via email or post. All online entries must be submitted in a Microsoft Word document, to our email editor@parkinsonslife.eu with the subject line ‘Parkinson’s Life poetry competition’. Postal entries should be addressed to the following address:

Parkinson’s Life editors
12 Links Yard
Spelman Street
London
E1 5LX

The accompanying email or letter should give a brief description of the poem’s subject and the author’s connection to the condition. Please also include your name and a phone number or email address we can contact you on.

All work will be judged by Parkinson’s Life editors, and the winning author will be contacted by email prior to publication on World Parkinson’s Day (11 April 2019). If you do not hear back from us, you have been unsuccessful this year.

Submissions will be open until 12.00am (GMT) on 14 March 2019.
